Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah secretary-general Razali Razi said there were 11 major wins achieved by the Hajiji Noor administration following official negotiations with the federal government.
In a Facebook post, he said these key demands were either already fulfilled or in the midst of being implemented.
Razali said the first was Sabah taking over regulatory power of its gas supply from national oil and gas company Petronas, describing this as the state’s “biggest milestone after MA63” itself.
He then cited SMJ Energy Sdn Bhd’s 25% equity in Petronas PFLNG 3 Sdn Bhd, which was formalised just last week, and the ongoing review of the oil and gas revenue-sharing formula.
The review is still being held but has already reached the technical costing stage, he said.
Razali said the fourth MA63 achievement was the realignment of regulatory powers and licences under the Sabah Gas Ordinance, while the fifth was the transfer of legislative powers on tourism from Putrajaya to Sabah.
The Darau Gagasan Rakyat chief said there was also the ongoing review of the annual special grant formula for Sabah, as well as Parliament’s reaffirmation of MA63 as the foundation of Sabah’s position in the federation.
Razali said discussions were ongoing on the state’s right to manage islands and resources under Sabah’s continental shelf and granting education autonomy to the state.
When it came to customs and excise powers, he said the authority over some items had already been returned to Sabah while those of major items were nearly in the final stage of talks.
Meanwhile, the government has implemented the first phase of decentralising administrative powers to state agencies.
Razali said these achievements were proof that the GRS-led government was not merely spewing rhetoric but had actually delivered on its promises to defend Sabah’s rights.
“GRS has successfully wrapped up official negotiations on major issues like gas and energy regulation, holding equity in Petronas PFLNG 3, realigning petroleum revenue and power decentralisation, among others.
“These are no small feats but structural milestones for the future of Sabah’s economy,” he said.
