PETALING JAYA: An uprooted tree crushed the roof of a car and a motorcycle at Jalan Utama Kampung Lembah Jaya Utara, in Ampang, killing two local residents today.
Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said authorities received information of the incident at 3.51pm.
“It is confirmed that as of now, two victims have died, both local residents.
“The car driver died at the scene, while the motorcyclist died on arrival at Ampang Hospital,” he said in a statement.
Assistance at the scene was provided by the fire and rescue department and Civil Defence Force.
Efforts to clear the area are under way.
