Man nabbed for allegedly beating up, threatening to stab ex-fiancee

The woman had gone to the suspect’s house in Taman Bukit Indah, Ampang, to retrieve her belongings.

PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a 37-year-old IT programmer in Ampang, Selangor, on suspicion of assaulting and threatening to stab his former fiancee on Monday.

Ampang Jaya police chief Azam Ismail said the woman, 21, had gone to the suspect’s house in Taman Bukit Indah to retrieve her belongings.

He said that when she arrived at the house, the suspect allegedly acted aggressively, scolding her, throwing things at her, and punching and kicking her on the head and back.

“The suspect also allegedly threatened to stab her. She claimed to have suffered pain on her head and body as a result,” he said in a statement.

Azam said the man was arrested at about 1.20am the following day, and remanded until Oct 3. He does not have a criminal record.

The case is being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
