
PETALING JAYA; The health ministry reported 19 new Covid-19 deaths yesterday, according to its GitHub database. Of the total, six were classified as brought-in-dead (BID).
The death toll now stands at 31,781.
Selangor topped the latest list of fatalities with five deaths, followed by Perak (3), Sabah (3), Penang (2) Terengganu (2), Johor (2), Melaka (1) and Kuala Lumpur (1).
Negeri Sembilan, Kelantan, Sarawak, Kedah, Perlis, Putrajaya and Labuan did not record any death.
As of midnight, there were 40,785 active cases, including 193 in intensive care units (ICU), 90 of whom require respiratory assistance.
There were also 2,828 recoveries reported.
The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Malaysia stands at 2,805,337 cases.
