Concrete wall collapses, killing excavator operator

PETALING JAYA:
A concrete wall at a construction site along Jalan PJU 8 here collapsed, trapping an excavator operator inside.

According to a report from the Selangor fire and rescue department (Bomba), the incident happened just before noon today.

The excavator’s operator, a 32-year-old Bangladeshi, died after being pulled out from the excavator.

In a separate incident, personnel from the Kota Anggerik Bomba station succeeded in preventing a man from falling off a flyover.

The station was alerted to the presence of a man sitting by the side of the Bukit Jelutong flyover along the Guthrie Highway at around 11.40am.

Bomba personnel persuaded the man to come down. The man is now in police custody.
