PAS’ Nasruddin Hasan appointed Yadim chief

The Islamist party's former information chief replaces Nik Omar Nik Abd Aziz.

PETALING JAYA:
PAS’ Nasruddin Hasan has been appointed as chairman of the Islamic Propagation Foundation of Malaysia, or Yadim.

He replaces Nik Omar Nik Abd Aziz who resigned yesterday.

Nik Omar, the son of the late PAS spiritual adviser Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat was appointed in 2018. His tenure was supposed to end in December.

Nasruddin’s appointment was confirmed by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Islamic affairs Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri.

In a Facebook post, Zulkifli also said Mohd Redza Shah Abdul Wahid had been appointed as the new chairman of the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (Yapeim), replacing Daud Bakar.

“I wish to express my gratitude to Daud Bakar and Nik Omar for their contributions,” he said, congratulating Nasruddin and Mohd Redza whom he met this morning.

“I hope Yadim and Yapeim will continue to achieve excellence for the ummah (community).”
