Khairul Dzaimee named Immigration DG

The home ministry deputy sec-gen takes over from Mustafar Ali, who retired on Dec 31.

Home ministry deputy secretary-general (Policy and Control) Khairul Dzaimee Daud has been appointed the new Immigration director-general, effective tomorrow.

He replaces Mustafar Ali, who retired on Dec 31.

In a statement here today, the ministry’s secretary-general Alwi Ibrahim said Khairul Dzaimee, 47, had experience in security management and immigration.

He said Khairul Dzaimee was responsible for policies on immigration, foreign worker management and national registration affairs while serving as deputy secretary-general from July last year to today.

Khairul Dzaimee holds a Master’s degree in Strategy and Diplomacy from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

He began his career in the civil service in December 1996 in the Public Service Department, followed by stints in the entrepreneur development ministry, National Security Council and urban wellbeing, housing and local government ministry before moving to the home ministry.
