MACC releases Azeez’s son

The 24-year-old, picked up at noon yesterday, was released 14 hours later.

Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim was remanded for 10 days for MACC investigations.

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today released the son of Baling MP Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.

A MACC source said the 24-year-old was picked up at noon yesterday and was released at 2am today after giving his statement.

Media reports stated the investigation was linked to several government projects involving millions of ringgit and money laundering.

Azeez, who was formerly Tabung Haji chairman and who is an Umno Supreme Council member, was picked up on Sept 25 together with his elder brother and another person in connection with the investigation.

Azeez was freed yesterday after being remanded for 10 days. His son had posted his RM500,000 bail.
