People know who to trust, so stop the accusations and challenges

It is useless for politicians and political parties to throw challenges against each other – who is to contest against whom and in which constituency - as issuing or accepting challenges will not make a candidate win or lose.

I think it is quite useless for both the MCA and the DAP to engage in an endless tirade against each other. What is the point, really?

The accusations and counter-accusations are all lost in the jumble of few facts with loads of fiction. Consequently, the challenges issued and accepted against each other are meaningless rants, nothing more.

But not to worry. I think by now, most Malaysians know who can be trusted more. I think the people are resigned to the fact that there are no perfect politicians and perfect systems of government. They only need to choose one that is not totally entrapped in corruption and entropy.

We all live here. We can see events unfolding each day and we can see how these events implicate and muddy the reputation of politicians and their parties. We can see how institutions are used to mitigate or magnify each event, depending on the personalities and circumstances involved. So what is there to argue further?

It is also useless to throw challenges at each other – who is to contest against who and in which constituency. Quite obviously, issuing or accepting challenges will not make a candidate win or lose.

If a candidate wants to win, he/she must do research and do work on the quiet from the ground up. Issuing challenges and accepting challenges only amounts to hot air.

I think most Malaysians know by now that hurling unsubstantiated accusations and issuing ridiculous challenges are mere distractions.

If there are proven cases of corruption in the state governments of Penang and Selangor, action would have been taken a long time ago. To me, there is no need for further accusations, and no amount of answers to these accusations will help them to extricate themselves.

Similarly, don’t ask Mahathir or Kit Siang to stand in Pekan and don’t ask Najib or Zahid to stand in Bukit Bintang. That is meaningless talk. Kit Siang standing in Bentong and Guan Eng in Ayer Hitam are possibilities, but it is best that they do their homework quietly.

The people know who is trying to bait the other and who is stupid enough to bite it.
