PAS will back Wan Saiful wherever he contests, says Fadhli

PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari expressed his party’s support for Wan Saiful Wan Jan in response to a Facebook user who asked what seat Wan Saiful would next contest.

Ahmad Fadhli Shaari expressed his party’s support for Wan Saiful Wan Jan in the comment section of a Facebook post by Wan Saiful.
PETALING JAYA:
Former Bersatu member Wan Saiful Wan Jan will get support from PAS in whichever seat he chooses to contest at the next general election, according to PAS information chief Ahmad Fadhli Shaari.

“Wherever he contests, PAS will help him,” said Fadhli in response to a commenter on Wan Saiful’s Facebook page, who asked which seat Wan Saiful, MP for Tasek Gelugor, would next contest.

The comment came on a post by Wan Saiful was over remarks by Marzuki Mohamad, a former aide to Muhyiddin Yassin, who claimed that former Bersatu deputy president Hamzah Zainudin was using PAS and Umno to divide the party and wrest control from Muhyiddin without contesting the presidency.

Wan Saiful said that PAS was “not born yesterday”, and had long experience ruling state governments and being part of the federal government.

“PAS has its own political wisdom and cannot be manipulated by anyone. Accusing Hamzah or anyone else of using PAS is proof of a serious denial syndrome,” he said.

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang said recently the party was re-examining its alliance with Bersatu in Perikatan Nasional.

Hadi had warned that the party’s patience had limits in response to a series of actions by Bersatu that PAS found unsatisfactory. Among others, he accused Bersatu of blocking efforts to bring Malay-Muslim parties into PN.

Hamzah was sacked by Bersatu on Feb 13 at the height of a leadership tussle with Muhyiddin. Wan Saiful was among the leaders sacked alongside Hamzah, along with Indera Mahkota MP Saifuddin Abdullah and Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal.
