PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a man after he was seen in a viral video driving against traffic on Jalan Hang Tuah in Kuala Lumpur.

Cheras police chief Rosdi Daud said the man, in his late 30s, was arrested for traffic violations and later tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine use.

“The suspect is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1985 (for drug abuse) and Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstruction of a public servant,” he said in a statement.

Rosdi said a remand application for the man would be made today.

The video shows the car going against heavy traffic, and the driver being scolded by other road users, before crossing a traffic island to enter the opposite lane.
