Bukit Aman’s internal security and public order department wildlife crime bureau commander Zaki Ashar said the operation was conducted jointly with Kuala Langat police and the Sepang environment department.
“Twenty-four foreign men and a foreign woman, aged between 19 and 50, were arrested to assist in the investigation,” Sinar Harian reported him as saying today.
Zaki said authorities seized 347 tonnes of e-waste, five compressors, a water recycling machine and two ovens.
He said the Kuala Langat municipal council issued RM1,000 in compound fines and business termination notices to the premises’ operators.
He also said police have carried out 158 raids nationwide for offences ranging from smuggling goods to the sale of imitation firearms, arresting 335 people, since Jan 1.
