The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) said the flooded locations included Taman Desa Kemuning, Kampung Budiman, Kampung Kubu Gajah, Taman Sri Lembayung, Jalan Opera, Persiaran Budiman and Persiaran Jubli Perak.
Even the Giant hypermarket at Seksyen 13 was affected by rising water levels which left roads inundated.
MBSA urged residents to exercise caution on the road and use alternative routes if possible.
“Please comply with the orders of the authorities if asked to relocate to temporary relief centres,” it said in a Facebook post.
The city council also closed off Jalan Batu Tiga Lama headed towards Taman Mesra due to rising water levels, and deployed officers to help relocate some residents and move their vehicles to higher ground.
According to Astro Radio Traffic, flash floods have blocked off the left and middle lanes of the New Klang Valley Expressway from Setia Alan to Subang. This has also affected the Seafield turnoff.
As of 12.20pm, 11,825 people had been evacuated across the country due to the floods, with Kelantan the worst-hit.
In Selangor, 86 people are being housed at five relief centres in Shah Alam, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Hulu Langat.
