PETALING JAYA:
A 58-year-old foreign woman who had been missing for the past week was found dead inside a car in Setapak that had been abandoned since April.

Wangsa Maju police chief Lazim Ismail said police were alerted at 11am on Sept 23 after members of the public discovered the body in the vehicle.

“The victim was identified by her child. She was said to have not returned home for about one week,” he said in a statement.

Lazim said the vehicle was not owned by the victim, had not moved since April and was not locked. He said checks also found no evidence of foul play.

“Examinations of the body and at the scene showed no criminal elements. The case has been classified as sudden death,” he said.

A post-mortem was carried out on Sept 24, but a decision on the cause of death is still pending.
