PETALING JAYA:
The dog that attacked a six-year-old boy in Cheras on Wednesday, causing facial injuries, has been confirmed to be a stray.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said this was confirmed by the Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj), and a notification letter has been sent to the veterinary services department.

“MPKj authorities confirmed that the dog had no owner and was a stray.

“The victim was previously treated at Kajang Hospital, but is now receiving treatment at the Putrajaya Hospital children’s ward,” Bernama reported him as saying today.

The boy was riding a bicycle near his home at Batu 9 in Cheras when he was attacked.

Naazron said the incident occurred at about 6.30pm.

“Several neighbours intervened and managed to chase the dog away,” he said, adding the boy was sent to Kajang Hospital for head injuries.
