PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a man believed to have robbed a clinic at gunpoint in Johor last month and seized a pistol, ammunition and a quantity of drugs.

Federal criminal investigation department director M Kumar said the man was arrested along with two women on Aug 14 after the trio were found to be acting suspiciously while in a car, Harian Metro reported.

Kumar said the man was believed to have held up a 43-year-old woman at gunpoint at the clinic on July 19. He ordered her to put cash and jewellery into a bag and fled on a motorcycle, firing one gunshot as members of the public tried to detain him.

After the arrest, police found a 9mm semi-automatic pistol, a silencer, one bullet casing and 175 live rounds in the bonnet of the car, said Kumar.

Several packages believed to contain methamphetamine, heroine, marijuana and ecstasy pills were found in a bag that belonged to the man.

Kumar said the suspects, aged 18 to 45, have a criminal history for various offences.
