The handover-of-duties ceremony was held at the Theatrette Hall in Bukit Aman, witnessed by Inspector-General of Police Khalid Ismail.
In his speech, Khalid said Shuhaily’s appointment was a mark of honour for the police, as he had been entrusted to lead another crucial agency responsible for safeguarding the nation’s security.
“This is no small responsibility, and I believe it is a significant trust that he must now carry. The police force will extend its full and unwavering support to ensure that these duties are carried out effectively and with integrity,” he said.
Shuhaily, in his speech, expressed gratitude to all police personnel, especially the CID team, for their support and encouragement during his one year and 11 months as the department’s director.
“This is certainly not a goodbye, but the beginning of a new chapter in my career. The synergy between the police and AKPS will be the driving force behind the government’s efforts to strengthen border control and ensure its success,” he said.
