PETALING JAYA:
Indonesian president Prabowo Subianto arrived in Kuala Lumpur today on a goodwill Aidilfitri visit and a quick meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.

Anwar said they discussed regional issues, including the impact of the new tariffs imposed by the United States, as well as joint efforts to provide aide to the people of Myanmar who were affected by a recent earthquake.

Indonesia Cabinet secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in Jakarta earlier that Prabowo would return to Jakarta immediately after the meeting with Anwar, according to Indonesian publication Tempo.

The visit marks the third time the Indonesian president has come to Malaysia since taking office in October 2024.

The US has imposed a so-called reciprocal tariff of 24% on Malaysia and a 32% tariff on Indonesian goods.
