PETALING JAYA:
A motorcyclist was killed and five others were injured in a six-vehicle crash on Jalan Hulu Langat-Ampang in Kajang yesterday.

Kajang police chief Naazron Abdul Yusof said an early investigation showed that four motorcycles and a car were heading from Hulu Langat towards Ampang at about 4.45pm when the accident occurred.

“A car coming from the direction of Ampang entered the opposite lane and rammed all five vehicles, causing one of the motorcyclists to be flung to the side of the road,” Sinar Harian quoted him as saying in a statement today.

He said Aysar Zahran Saiful Alimin, 20, was confirmed dead at the scene.

“The five others on the motorcycles, including a pillion rider, were brought to Ampang Hospital for treatment.

“The drivers of both cars were uninjured. Those involved were between 17 and 38 years,” he said.

Naazron said the 27-year-old driver of the car which had entered the opposite lane had been arrested, and the vehicle would be sent to a Puspakom centre and the chemistry department for further investigation.

He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for driving under the influence.
