MELAKA: Police have received four reports on an alleged “free Bible course” promotion next to a surau near the Stadthuys in Banda Hilir here last Saturday.
Melaka police chief Zainol Samah said all the reports were received yesterday, with complaints made by four individuals, including staff from the Melaka Islamic religious department.
“The reports were made following a viral video on TikTok showing a group of individuals distributing pamphlets or promoting Christianity to the public in front of the surau.
“The complainants requested that the police investigate and take firm action against the individuals featured in the viral video,” Zainol said in a statement today.
The 16-second video showed a group of individuals with leaflets stacked on a trolley next to the surau, and a sign saying “Free Bible Course”.
The video is said to have been recorded by a trishaw rider.
