
PETALING JAYA: Four teenagers aged 14 to 17 pleaded guilty in the Alor Gajah magistrates’ court today to assaulting and strangling a female e-hailing driver last month.
The four, one of whom is still a student, were jointly charged with causing grievous hurt to Lim Lih Yin, 42, by striking her with a metal rod and strangling her.
The offence occurred near a forest in Kuala Sungai Baru at about 12.30am on May 4, Harian Metro reported.
The charge was framed under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which provides for up to three years in prison, a fine or whipping, if convicted.
Magistrate Teoh Shu Yee granted bail of RM1,000 each and fixed June 24 for case mention and submission of behavioural reports. They were not sentenced today.
