Selangor FC defender Khuzaimi Piee says the break-in at his home happened during training yesterday evening.
PETALING JAYA:
The home of Selangor FC defender Ahmad Khuzaimi Piee was allegedly burgled yesterday evening.

In a police report sighted by FMT, Khuzaimi said he had left his home yesterday at around 2pm to attend a training session.

“At about 9pm when I reached home, I found my front and back gates open,” he said.

The 31-year-old said he found that a Yamaha motorcycle had been stolen, along with four sling bags of various brands and a passport.

Shah Alam police chief Iqbal Ibrahim said two suspects are believed to have been involved, arriving at the residence in a white MPV car and later leaving separately with one of them on the stolen motorcycle.

He said Khuzaimi’s losses, including his Yamaha Y15R motorcycle, are estimated at around RM15,000.

Iqbal said investigations are being carried out under Section 457 of the Penal Code for housebreaking, which carries a prison sentence of up to 14 years and a fine.

Last week, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) asked the Malaysian Football League to improve safety protocols for players, especially during match day travel to and from stadiums and at their designated accommodation.

FAM deputy president Yusoff Mahadi stressed the importance of taking player safety seriously, especially after recent incidents involving three local footballers, one of whom was left in critical condition.

On May 2, Terengganu FC winger Akhyar Rashid was attacked by two robbers after returning home from training.

Three days later, Selangor FC winger Faisal Halim became the victim of an acid attack at a mall. He suffered fourth-degree burns and was warded at the intensive care unit due to his critical condition.

The third incident on May 7 saw the rear windscreen of former national team and Johor Darul Ta’zim skipper Safiq Rahim’s car smashed as he was returning home from training.
