PETALING JAYA:
The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) will summon the top management of the Armed Forces Fund Board (LTAT) to its proceedings over concerns about its financial situation.

PAC chairman Mas Ermieyati Samsudin said Auditor-General Wan Suraya Wan Radzi, in her special briefing to the committee yesterday, had listed LTAT as one of three agencies in need of attention. The other two were Felda and PR1MA.

“Although the auditor-general listed three agencies that needed PAC’s further attention due to issues with their 2022 financial statements, PAC has decided to summon LTAT first.

“PAC is concerned about LTAT’s financial situation due to its negative reserves. This raises questions as to whether it is able to pay dividends to its contributors,” she said in a press conference.

The Masjid Tanah MP said PAC would summon LTAT after Hari Raya, and call “all parties” related to the agency including three individuals who had recently resigned: chairman Raja Affandi Raja Noor, CEO Ahmad Nazim Abdul Rahman, and strategic asset allocation chief Dayana Rogayah Omar.

She said the committee did not rule out the possibility of calling the defence minister responsible for LTAT as well.

Khaled Nordin was appointed as defence minister on Dec 12, succeeding Mohamad Hasan who was appointed as foreign affairs minister in a Cabinet reshuffle.

Mas Ermieyati also noted that PAC would table seven reports including three follow-up action reports at the first meeting of the parliamentary session.
