Water cuts in 1,337 areas in Selangor due to pollution

Air Selangor says the regions affected are Petaling, Kuala Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, Klang, Shah Alam, Hulu Selangor and Kuala Langat.

PETALING JAYA:
A total of 1,337 areas in Selangor are facing water cuts following odour pollution at the Rantau Panjang water treatment plant (WTP).

Air Selangor said it was forced to temporarily shut down four water treatment plants, namely Rantau Panjang WTP, Sungai Selangor Phase 1 WTP, Sungai Selangor Phase 2 WTP, and Sungai Selangor Phase 3 WTP.

Following the shutdown, eight Air Selangor regions were affected – Petaling (370 areas), Kuala Selangor (280), Gombak (279), Klang/Shah Alam (189), Kuala Lumpur (186), Hulu Selangor (30), and Kuala Langat (3) – and they are expected to experience unscheduled water supply disruptions.

Air Selangor said it will be providing updates on the situation from time to time including through the media, its official communication channels on social media, as well as via www.airselangor.com and the Air Selangor app.

Consumers have also been advised to call the Air Selangor contact centre at 15300 for any further inquiries.
