The PBB senior vice-president says the four MPs told the King that they could not decide on the matter as it was up to the GPS top leadership.

PETALING JAYA:
The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, told Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) leaders that a unity government might be the solution to the ongoing political impasse, says GPS’ Fadillah Yusof.

According to The Borneo Post, Fadillah told reporters in Kuching that the King asked the four GPS MPs who met him this morning at Istana Negara if they would accept a unity government.

“The four of us replied that we could not make a decision on this because it lies with GPS’ top leadership.

“At the same time, (GPS) will obey whatever decision is made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong,” said the senior vice-president of GPS lynchpin Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

The four GPS MPs who met the King were Fadillah, Kapit MP Alexander Nanta Linggi, Serian MP Richard Riot Jaem and Kanowit MP Aaron Ago Dagang.

Fadillah said there were supposed to be five MPs during today’s audience, but one of them could not be contacted.

There were no representatives from the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) at Istana Negara. It was initially expected that PDP president and Bintulu MP Tiong King Sing would be present.
