He said Bersatu’s candidates, including two incumbents, will instead use the PAS logo.
“They will all contest under the PAS logo,” Utusan Malaysia quoted Muhyiddin as saying.
Mustapa Mohamed (Jeli) and Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz (Tanah Merah) both won their parliamentary seats under a Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket in the last general election (GE14) in 2018 before leaving Umno to join Bersatu.
Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, said a consensus was reached at a recent PN meeting to use the Islamic party’s logo in Kelantan to guarantee victory in the state.
However, he did not indicate if the same will apply for Bersatu’s candidates in Terengganu and Kedah, the other two states controlled by PAS.
Muhyiddin previously said the coalition’s partners, which include Gerakan, Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) and Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP), had agreed to campaign under the PN logo.
PAS won nine out of the 14 parliamentary seats in Kelantan in GE14 with BN taking the remaining five. BN was left with three seats after Mustapa and Ikmal’s departure.
GE15 will take place on Nov 19, with nomination day on Nov 5 and early voting set for Nov 15.
