This comes after PAS had allegedly revealed that it was offered 47 winnable seats by Bersatu if the Islamic party remains with Perikatan Nasional in the coming polls.
PAS had supposedly revealed this following a meeting with Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and his deputy, Mohamad Hasan, a day before PAS confirmed it would remain with PN, Asyraf claimed.
“For Umno, any talk about reviving MN this time around should be more than just about seat allocations for GE15,” he said in a Facebook post.
Asyraf also uploaded a picture of Zahid and Mohamad sharing a meal with their PAS counterparts, Abdul Hadi Awang and Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man respectively.
He went on to say that Umno was more than prepared to revive its alliance with PAS under MN, which was established in 2019 to woo the Malay-Muslim electorate.
This was despite PAS stabbing Umno in the back by agreeing to set up PN with Bersatu.
“Umno will not lose hope despite the overtures being spurned,” he said, adding that when it came to championing race and religion, the scope would be broadened.
