Warisan a mosquito party? But we ousted BN, reminds Shafie

The Warisan president says his party is all set to do battle at the general election.

Shafie Apdal being welcomed by Warisan members at a gathering in Lahad Datu, Sabah, today.
LAHAD DATU:
Warisan says it is ready to take on political bigwigs such as Barisan Nasional (BN) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) at the 15th general election, despite being regarded merely as a “mosquito party”.

“This mosquito party is ready to do battle in GE15 to face the big parties, especially those in GRS,” its president Shafie Apdal told reporters after a party event in Lahad Datu today.

He reminded the people that Warisan had defeated BN in Sabah at the previous general election.

Shafie described the GRS government as essentially a BN outfit, because most of its leaders were originally from the national coalition.

Shafie also said the present federal government was one that was born out of lust for power and not one formed to help the people.

“The government’s slogans are nice to hear but in reality, there is no unity. Umno wants its man to be prime minister while Muhyiddin Yassin is also eyeing the post. Is this what you call unity?

He said the cooperation in the ruling coalition was based on “a lust for position, power and projects”.
