BN to contest 41 seats in Sabah polls

As expected, Sabah BN chief Bung Moktar Radin will defend Lamag, which he has represented since 2020.

PETALING JAYA:
Sabah Barisan Nasional said today it will vie for 41 seats in the Nov 29 state election when it unveiled its lineup, which comprises two former federal ministers.

Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin, who announced the list of candidates, is set to defend Lamag, the constituency he won in 2020.

Abdul Rahman Dahlan, a former urban wellbeing, housing and local government minister, will stand in Tempasuk, while Salleh Said Keruak, who was the communications and multimedia minister from 2015 to 2018, will defend the Usukan seat.

Arthur Joseph Kurup, the current deputy agriculture and food security minister, will stand in Sook.

BN won 14 seats in the last state election five years ago, although several of its assemblymen have since backed chief minister Hajiji Noor’s administration.

The coalition, which will be working with Pakatan Harapan for the state polls, is in the opposition in Sabah.

Nominations will be held on Nov 15, and early voting on Nov 25.

There are 73 seats up for grabs in the election.
