Former deputy MB of Kelantan, Halim Rahman, dies at 82

His daughter said he died in hospital this afternoon of a lung infection.

KOTA BHARU:
Former Kelantan deputy menteri besar Abdul Halim Abdul Rahman died in hospital this afternoon. He was 82.

Halim’s daughter, Ahlaami said her father died of a lung infection.

Funeral prayers would be held at Saadatul Ikhwan Mosque tonight, before burial at the Banggol Muslim cemetery.

Halim was Kelantan deputy menteri besar from 1990 to 2004. He was the assemblyman for Banggol, then Kijang and became MP for Pengkalan Chepa from 2004 to 2013.

He was also former national treasurer of PAS, said menteri besar Ahmad Yakob.

He said Halim had made great contributions to Kelantan and was one of the important figures in the state government.

Ahmad said the state government conveyed its deepest condolences to Halim’s family.
