The assault, which was captured on video and has since gone viral, is said to have been sparked by dissatisfaction over the fee paid for the food at the centre.
Lipis police chief Azli Mohd Noor said the suspects were among the three who had attacked the victims.
“The ustaz suffered injuries to his arm, body and also his right eye, and required four stitches, while the student suffered injuries to his body,” he said.
The student had lodged a police report.
Azli said the suspects, who tested positive for methamphetamine, were arrested in a raid in Damak, Jerantut. Police are tracking down the third suspect.
They had prior criminal offences on record.
