Woman in comedy club fiasco not OKU card holder, says JKM

The social welfare department says she is not listed as a disabled person in its records.

Siti Nuramira Abdullah was charged with insulting Islam on July 13.
KUALA LUMPUR:
The social welfare department (JKM) has denied that Siti Nuramira Abdullah is a disabled person with an OKU card as shown in an infographic that went viral on social media.

Siti Nuramira is the woman who allegedly insulted Islam by acting indecently during a performance at a comedy club here.

JKM said in a statement today that based on the records of the information management system for the disabled, it found that Siti Nuramira was not an OKU card holder.

“The media are urged to obtain confirmation from JKM first to ensure that the matter reported is true,” it added in the statement.

JKM also hoped that the report would be corrected immediately by the relevant parties to avoid any misunderstandings and to protect the sensitivities of the disabled.
