In a police report lodged today, Faziani’s family said they believed that there were “other elements” involved, Berita Harian reported.
Her family reached the conclusion based on information gathered by their lawyer.
“We suspect that her death was not due to a car crash which was why we filed this police report,” the daily quoted a family member as saying.
In confirming the report, Tumpat district police chief Amran Dolah said his department would refer the matter to its legal department as the road accident occurred in Thailand.
Faziani, who founded Dnars Skincare, died in 2019 when the car she was travelling in crashed into a lorry.
Her husband Shah Rizal Ibrahim was injured in the accident.
The couple was on their way to Yala when the accident occurred.
