Woman killed while changing tyre in emergency lane of North-South Expressway

Police say a container truck crashed into the 31-year-old, whose tyre had gone flat on her way to work.

Seremban police chief Azahar Abdul Rahman said the 31-year-old victim suffered severe injuries to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A woman changing a flat tyre in the emergency lane was killed after she was hit by a container truck at Km260.6 of the North-South Expressway (southbound) near Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, this morning.

Seremban police chief Azahar Abdul Rahman said the 31-year-old victim suffered severe injuries to her body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

“A preliminary investigation found that the victim was travelling from Gadong towards her workplace in Senawang when the rear right tyre of her car went flat, prompting her to stop in the emergency lane.

“While she was changing the tyre, a container truck driven by a 24-year-old man in the left lane collided with the woman,” Bernama reported him as saying.

The body was taken to Rembau Hospital for a post-mortem.
