The Selangor fire and rescue department said the accident involved two SUVs, one belonging to the Shah Alam public works department (JKR), a car and a three-tonne lorry.
There were nine victims involved in the crash, it added.
“The infant was removed from one of the SUVs at about 11.30am. However, the infant was later confirmed dead by medical officers,” the department said in a statement.
“An adult man who was pinned under the same SUV was rescued at 11.20am and taken to the hospital by our emergency medical rescue team.’’
The department said the remaining seven injured victims were also sent to hospital for treatment.
