Ex-Felda chairman heads King’s birthday list

1,207 people were bestowed awards on occasion of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's official birthday celebration.

Raja Muhammad Alias Raja Muhammad Ali received the Seri Setia Mahkota award, which carries the title ‘Tun’, while Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Abang Johari Openg received the Panglima Mangku Negara, which carries the title ‘Tan Sri’.

Former Felda Group chairman Raja Muhammad Alias Raja Muhammad Ali heads a list of 1,207 people who were conferred awards and medals by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.

Raja Muhammad Alias was conferred the Seri Setia Mahkota (SSM) award, which carries the title “Tun”, in conjunction with the King’s official birthday this year.

Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani and Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg received the Panglima Mangku Negara (PMN), which carries the title “Tan Sri”.

A total of 18 individuals were conferred the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota (PSM), which also carries the title “Tan Sri”.

They are Chief Judge of Sabah dan Sarawak Abang Iskandar Abang Hashim; Dewan Rakyat Speaker Azhar Azizan Harun; Foreign Ministry secretary-general Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob; Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner Azam Baki and International Islamic University Malaysia (UIAM) president Mohd Daud Bakar.

Other PSM recipients included Khazanah Nasional Bhd managing director Shahril Ridza Ridzuan; Ikhlas Capital chairman Nazir Razak; former Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia permanent chairman Mohd Shariff Omar; former MCA president Liow Tiong Lai; and PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

A total of 18 individuals received the Darjah Panglima Jasa Negara (PJN) and two individuals were conferred the Darjah Panglima Setia Diraja (PSD). The awards come with the title “Datuk”.

The PJN recipients included Court of Appeal judge ESM Nantha Balan; former national badminton player Misbun Sidek and Celcom Axiata Bhd chief executive officer Mohamad Idham Nawawi.

Meanwhile, 33 individuals were bestowed the Johan Mangku Negara, 61 were bestowed the Johan Setia Mahkota, three the Johan Setia di-Raja, 205 the Kesatria Mangku Negara, seven the Kesatria Setia di-Raja, 303 the Ahli Mangku Negara, 514 the Pingat Pangkuan Negara, and 38 the Bentara Setia di-Raja.

Two members of the elite Senoi Praaq unit of the Royal Malaysia Police, the late sergeants Baharuddin Ramli and Norihan Tari, who were involved in a shooting incident at the Malaysia-Thai border in November last year, were conferred the Panglima Gagah Berani award.
