Those who do not suffer from such comorbidities will be advised to undergo home quarantine. The same rule would apply to those displaying mild symptoms or are asymptomatic, he said.
“But we will give exceptions for certain cases. Pregnant women and the elderly, will be admitted,” he told reporters after visiting the Tampin Hospital in Negeri Sembilan this morning.
He also advised those who undergo home quarantine to constantly monitor themselves with the home assessment tool in the MySejahtera app.
Khairy said the number of brought-in-dead cases can be reduced if those quarantined at home constantly monitor themselves and get themselves warded if they experience chest pains and breathing difficulties.
He had previously promised to bring down such cases in the next 100 days.
On a separate matter, Khairy said 12,000 doses of CanSino vaccines would be delivered to Negeri Sembilan this month.
He also revealed that 82% of the adult population in the state had been fully vaccinated.
This had led to the number of Covid-19 patients warded in intensive care units and who need respiratory assistance to drop below 70%.
In the last month, the number of Covid-19 patients warded in hospitals in Negeri Sembilan had dropped by 65% to 319 from 899.
The success achieved in the state, which is poised to move to Phase 3 under the national recovery plan, could be an indicator of things to come for the Klang Valley which has achieved a similarly high vaccination rate, said Khairy.
“But due to the population density (in the Klang Valley), we will only know more about this in the next few weeks.”
