PETALING JAYA:
Pakatan Harapan (PH) is ready to welcome back MPs who betrayed the people’s mandate given to the coalition previously.

Amanah vice-president, Mahfuz Omar, said there was room for repentance for anyone who had made a mistake and this includes MPs who wanted to return to the PH fold.

“If they return to PH, that would be best. Everyone has made mistakes and should be given a chance to return and restore the people’s mandate.

“For us to rebuild (the country), we will accept them with an open heart. That is not a problem,” he said.

Mahfuz added that PH’s decision to nominate PKR president Anwar Ibrahim as the ninth prime minister was the right step in restoring the people’s confidence in the government.

Yesterday, all MPs were instructed to submit their statutory declarations (SDs) nominating their preferred candidate to be appointed as the next prime minister to Istana Negara.

All MPs submitted their SDs by 4pm today.
