When met after a meeting of Perikatan Nasional MPs at its headquarters today, he said they discussed the direction the party would take if the prime minister were to step down.
When asked if there would be any announcement tomorrow on the matter, he said: “Insyallah, there will be. But we wait till tomorrow. The prime minister has explored every option for the sake of the rakyat.”
Meanwhile, Malaysiakini quoted him as saying that Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin will tender his resignation to the King tomorrow.
He said Muhyiddin conveyed his decision to the MPs at the meeting, adding that he will head for the Palace to submit his letter after a special cabinet meeting.
Speaking to reporters earlier, he said some MPs had been irresponsible in their actions which has led to the current situation.
“They should continue the efforts of the prime minister and Perikatan Nasional (PN). They are not following the law,” he said.
“If they withdraw support based on their individual interests, without looking into the interests of the rakyat, then we will have to look for the best way out.”
Redzuan said they will now leave it to the King to ensure the country is led by a leadership that will place importance on the rakyat.
