PUTRAJAYA:
There are blind spots in the HIDE system for potential hotspots because people fail to check-in at business premises via the MySejahtera app, immunisation minister Khairy Jamaluddin said today.

He said most business premises have been registered in the HIDE system, which makes an analysis based on customer check-ins. Blind spots occur when visitors fail to scan the MySejahtera QR code.

“That is why I have often stressed the need for visitors to register using the application,” he said at a joint press conference with health minister Dr Adham Baba on developments in the Covid-19 immunisation programme.

Khairy did not rule out the possibility of business premises being relisted as a hotspot location if a HIDE analysis showed potential of a similar situation.

Adham said the system receives data and information on a daily basis from the state crisis preparedness and response centre.

He advised those who have been to any premises identified as a Covid-19 hotspot to go to a clinic right away if they feel unwell.

If they are found to be Covid-19 positive, the district health office would be mobilised to conduct an investigation, contact tracing, isolate the positive cases, quarantine close contacts, carry out risk assessment and other necessary steps such as cleaning or disinfecting.
