“We must remove unnecessary rules and make things easier for the people,” he told civil servants during a special meeting today.
For instance, he said, the local authorities should facilitate applications for government aid and for traders, entrepreneurs and investors to obtain licences.
“We want to simplify the processes and ensure that aid can reach the people on time, particularly the rural community where some may not have internet access,” he said.
Muhyiddin called upon the civil servants to take advantage of digital technology in the service delivery of their respective ministries, departments and agencies and to enhance their services and skills in addressing the people’s problems.
On the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, he said that about 7.2 million Malaysians nationwide had registered themselves to be vaccinated through the MySejahtera application. To date, 580,765 vaccine doses have been administered throughout the country.
The prime minister also urged the people in Sarawak to register themselves for the vaccine as the second phase will begin on April 19.
“Once we achieve herd immunity, (hopefully) our lives can return to normal,” he added.
