
In a statement today, Ismail said 296 of them were issued compounds and eight were remanded. One individual was allowed bail.
Among the offences were failure to provide materials for contact tracing or registration of customers (100), failure to wear a face mask (80), crossing state or district borders without police permission (48), flouting physical distancing rules (40), participating in activities at entertainment centres (17), premises operating beyond permitted hours or without permission (five), leaving the house without a legitimate reason (three), and others (12).
A total of 3,412 compliance task force teams were deployed to conduct checks on supermarkets, restaurants, hawker stalls, factories, banks, among others.
Ismail also said authorities nabbed 12 illegal immigrants and seized two vehicles under Op Benteng. Enforcement set up 446 roadblocks for monitoring yesterday.
He added that 135,018 people had arrived through KLIA since July 24, 2020 from various countries.
A total of 850 people were sent to hospital for treatment, while 126,619 were allowed to return home and 7,549 have been quarantined.
Yesterday, 816 people arrived in Malaysia through international borders, and all have been quarantined at dedicated quarantine stations nationwide.
