2 PAS assemblymen reappointed as Perak exco

Also reappointed were two PPBM and an Umno assemblymen.

Five more Perak assemblymen took their oath of office in front of Sultan Nazrin Shah at Istana Kinta today.
IPOH:
Two PAS assemblymen were reappointed as executive councillors (exco) in the Perak state government this evening, despite the party having previously declared that they would not be part of the new administration.

Perak PAS chief Razman Zakaria, who is the Gunung Semanggol assemblyman, and Selama representative Mohd Akmal Kamaruddin took their oath of office in front of the Perak Sultan, Sultan Nazrin Shah at the Istana Kinta here.

Their reappointment came following party president Abdul Hadi Awang’s audience with Sultan Nazrin earlier today.

Also reappointed were Changkat Jering assemblyman, Ahmad Saidi Mohamad Daud of Umno and two representatives from PPBM, namely Nolee Ashilin Mohammed Radzi (Tualang Sekah) and Abdul Yunus Jamhari (Kuala Kurau).

A few days ago, Razman had expressed confidence that the party would not be left out of the new state government after Perak Umno chief Saarani Mohamad was sworn in as Perak’s new menteri besar, along with five executive councillors, all of whom were not from PAS.

The Islamist party had earlier this month declared it will not be part of any new Perak government following the ouster of then menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

Faizal, who is also PPBM deputy president, lost a vote of confidence in the state assembly by a vote of 48-10, with one abstention.
