KUALA LUMPUR: Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has urged the public to comply with the nationwide movement control order (MCO), after personally observing the situation on the ground today.
Sultan Abdullah expressed regret that people were still out on the streets.
“I saw many other cars on the roads. This is certainly not a good situation,” he said in an Instagram post.
Earlier, he stopped at a police roadblock in the city to monitor enforcement efforts of the MCO, which aims to minimise public mobility from March 18 to 31.
Among the places the Agong visited were Jalan Semantan, Sri Hartamas, Jalan Loke Yew, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Sultan Ismail and KLCC.
The government today announced the deployment of the army to help in the enforcement of MCO, following reports that many Malaysians were still not remaining indoors as instructed.
