KUALA LUMPUR:
A Syrian man was killed when he lost control of his car and hit the road divider before crashing into a concrete pole at a flyover along the Federal Highway last night.

The crash near the Mid Valley Megamall occurred about midnight as he was driving towards the city centre.

Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department deputy head Supt Sarifudin Mohd Saleh said the impact caused the victim, identified as Abdulsalam Mohamad Turkmani, 24, to be thrown out of the car. He was pinned underneath it.

“He died on the spot. The body was sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for a post-mortem,” he said in a statement here today.

He said a passenger in the car, Muhamad Al-Saraj, was unhurt.
