
With the 100 days mark already reached, he said Barisan Nasional and Umno need to think of the road ahead, and not dwell on the narrative of unfulfilled promises.
“BN and Umno need a new direction. The leadership must take the lead and bring changes.
“It is already 100 days. We should think of, ‘what’s next?’, and not just sell the narrative of unfulfilled promises. That is done. Move on,” he said in a series of tweets.
PH had outlined a 10-point manifesto for its first 100 days in office. However, its leaders later admitted that they would not be able to fulfil all the promises in 100 days and that they would need more time.
Khairy said people did not care about the 100 days’ promises or other promises in the manifesto, and were not really bothered about whether they were implemented or not.
“They just wanted to get rid of Umno and BN,” he said.
In moving forward, Khairy said he had discussed with Jeli MP Mustapa Mohamed and other BN MPs on drafting an Alternative Budget, which could be tabled in the upcoming Parliament sitting, together with the PH government’s budget.
“This was done by PH before. At least, the people can then evaluate the policies and proposals from both sides.
“The debate will also have a clearer aim, with references to two different options in how the nation’s economy will be managed,” he added.
