Newborn baby girl found at bus stop in Shah Alam

The infant, wrapped in a pink cloth, was discovered by a van driver at 12.45am in front of the Section 7 health clinic.

SHAH ALAM:
A newborn baby girl with her umbilical cord still intact was found abandoned at a bus stop in front of the Section 7 health clinic here early today.

District police chief ACP Baharudin Mat Taib said the infant, who was wrapped in a pink cloth, was discovered by a van driver at 12.45am.

He said the man handed over the baby to the Shah Alam Hospital police post located next to the clinic.

The case would be investigated under Section 317 of the Penal Code for concealing a birth with the intent of abandoning an infant, he said when contacted.
