
KUALA LUMPUR: Lawyers representing Najib Razak have resigned ahead of the former prime minister’s questioning by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) later today
Harpal Singh Grewal and M Athimulan said Najib has appointed a new legal team.
“Yes I can confirm that we have withdrawn ourselves from his team.
“He has hired a new team,” Harpal said when contacted, without giving further details
It is understood that the new team is led by former solicitor-general Mohd Yusof Zainal Abidin.
Najib is expected to give his statement to the MACC at 10am, regarding some RM42 million linked to SRC International, the entity related to 1MDB.
