It announced its decision for Negeri Sembilan, with DAP allotted all 11 state constituencies it won in the last general election in 2013 (GE13).
PH chief secretary Saifuddin Abdullah said PKR would contest in 12 state seats, Amanah in seven and PPBM in six in the upcoming 14th general election (GE14). There are 36 seats in the state legislative assembly.
“The presidential council approved the seat distribution last week and the four parties’ state representatives signed the agreement yesterday,” he said at the opening of the Negeri Sembilan state convention in Seremban today.
DAP will field candidates in Chennah, Bahau, Nilai, Lobak, Temiang, Bukit Kepayang, Rahang, Mambau, Senawang, Lukut and Repah,
PKR will contest in Jeram Padang, Sikamat, Ampangan, Juasseh, Pilah, Labu, Rantau, Chuah, Linggi, Port Dickson, Gemas and Sungai Liu.
Meanwhile, Amanah is assigned the Serting, Klawang, Johol, Paroi, Senaling, Lenggeng and Kota seats, while PPBM candidates will stand in Paloh, Sri Menanti, Chembong, Gemencheh, Pertang and Bagan Pinang.
A cursory glance at the arrangement reveals that Amanah and PPBM have been given seats previously contested by PAS and PKR.
In GE13, opposition coalition Pakatan Rakyat, the now-defunct precursor to PH, had won 14 seats.
DAP had then swept all the 11 seats it contested while PKR won three, thus denying the Barisan Nasional (BN) the two-thirds majority in the assembly for the second time since 2008.
In total, PKR was allocated 13 seats within the PR arrangement, while fellow component PAS was given 12 but won none.
BN had then won 22 seats, almost all by Umno representatives. MCA and Gerakan candidates were totally wiped out while MIC gained its sole seat in Jeram Padang.
Saifuddin also announced an evenly divided seat-sharing scheme among PH parties for the eight parliamentary constituencies in the state.
DAP would contest in Seremban and Rasah, PKR in Teluk Kemang and Rembau, PPBM in Jempol and Kuala Pilah, and Amanah in Jelebu and Tampin.
PH president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail told delegates that Negeri Sembilan was among the frontline states where the coalition hoped to perform significantly well in GE14.
