“But only a stupid party would bow down to a stupid scandal,” she told FMT.
Screenshots of an intimate WhatsApp conversation, allegedly between her and an unnamed man, have recently surfaced online. Anina has however dismissed the allegations.
She is not the first PPBM leader implicated in a sex scandal.
In June, PPBM president Muhyiddin Yassin denied having an affair with another man’s wife, after blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin published a statutory declaration issued by a former deputy public prosecutor for his divorce case.
Muhyiddin had then accused Umno leaders of resorting to dirty tactics to smear his name.
Anina today said Muhyiddin and his deputy Mukhriz Mahathir should be in the best position to understand how she felt now, as the duo had been sacked before from their top government posts.
“I want to know their answer, then I’ll say how I’m feeling.
“Back then when I was defending them, I forgot to ask how they felt. I just stood up to defend them without thinking much,” said Anina.
Anina first shot to fame after her scathing speech against Umno president Najib Razak at a Langkawi Umno meeting last year. This followed a revelation that Najib received some RM2.6 billion in his private bank accounts, money he said was a donation for Umno from the Saudi royal family.
Anina was subsequently sacked by Umno in September last year.
